Common faults of tractor clutch

1. Clutch slipping:

The tractor is slow to start in low gear and difficult to start in high gear. Sometimes it shakes and the tractor's traction is significantly reduced. When the load increases, the tractor's speed increases and decreases, and it may even stop. However, the sound of the internal combustion engine does not change. In severe cases, the clutch may overheat, causing the friction plate to smoke and have a burning smell.

  Reference reasons and solutions:

(1) There is oil on the surface of the friction plate. It is mainly caused by damage to oil seals and other sealing devices, leakage of lubricating oil, improper maintenance, and excessive oil injection. The source of oil contamination should be identified, eliminated, and then cleaned.

(2) The clutch free clearance is too small or there is no clearance. Should be readjusted.

(3) The pressure spring is broken or its elastic force is weakened. The spring should be replaced.

(4) The friction plate is worn. If the friction plate is eccentrically worn, severely burned or too thin, and the rivet head is exposed, it should be replaced. If the wear is not large and the rivets are embedded to a depth of not less than 0.5 mm, they do not need to be replaced. However, if the rivets are loose, they should be re-riveted or replaced with new rivets. If the friction piece is lightly burned, it can be smoothed with sandpaper.

(5) The driven plate is warped and deformed, and the plane unevenness between the flywheel and the pressure plate is too large. Should be corrected and repaired.

(6) The return spring is relaxed or broken. should be replaced.

2. Clutch separation is not sensitive

When the clutch pedal is pressed to the bottom, the power cannot be completely cut off, it is difficult to shift into gear, or there is a strong gear grinding sound.

  Reference reasons and troubleshooting methods:

(1) The clutch clearance is too large, the small brake or the main clutch separation clearance is too small, resulting in insufficient clutch working stroke and unclear clutch separation. should be adjusted correctly.

(2) The inner ends of the three separation levers are not on the same plane, and some of the compression springs become soft or broken, causing the pressure plate to be skewed during separation and the clutch to be separated unclearly. The spring should be adjusted or replaced.

(3) Due to reasons such as excessive friction plate thickness and improper installation, the effective working stroke of the clutch is reduced and the separation is inflexible. The cause should be identified and eliminated. If the friction plate is too thick, it should be replaced, or a gasket should be added between the clutch cover and the flywheel to compensate. The thickness of the added gasket should not exceed 0.5 mm.
