How to use a tractor to save fuel?

Feb 16, 2024

Tractors are widely used in both industry and agriculture. Here are some examples of daily use processes such as starting, driving, and parking of tractors, and how to help our tractors save fuel:

Pay attention to the maintenance of the starting device at ordinary times, and do not force the ignition multiple times when the tractor fails. In winter, it is necessary to preheat the engine. Add hot water of about 80℃ to the water tank before starting to warm the engine. After starting, the water temperature reaches above 50℃ before starting. Do not slam the accelerator to avoid a sudden increase in the cold engine speed, which will cause fuel consumption.

The appropriate gear and throttle should be selected for operation. When the load is light, use a high-end small throttle to ensure that the fuel is fully burned, the driving is maintained at a medium speed, and the number of stops is reduced.

Correctly select the towing load so as not to overload and speed.

Use the brakes as little as possible when the tractor is moving. Improper braking can easily cause wear of mechanical parts, increase power consumption, and increase fuel consumption.

When parking for more than 5 minutes, turn off the tractor to avoid idling the engine. If the tractor has been parked for a long time, the tractor can be properly lubricated before starting.

In addition to operations, you can also adjust the valve clearance, maintain the air filter, maintain the optimal water temperature of the tractor, etc. Generally, it is more fuel-efficient when the water temperature is high than when the water temperature is low. Paying attention to the above points can help us reduce fuel consumption and save costs!
