Tractor water tank maintenance

Feb 25, 2024

The water tank can help many tractors dissipate heat and perform better. We often need to fill the water tank of the loader, but it is easy to ignore the maintenance of the water tank. Let us take a look at it:

Check and add cooling water in time. The added cooling water should be soft water or pure water. Clean the scale and check the water pump regularly.

When the water tank is boiling, it is strictly forbidden to open the water tank cover directly to prevent burns: the machine power should be cut off and run at idle speed. Only after the engine temperature drops can the cooling water be checked and added.

In the cold season, hot water should be added to preheat the body, and boiling water cannot be added directly! When the tractor is parked for a short time, you should pay attention to the temperature of the water tank, otherwise the engine should be run at low speed to prevent the temperature from being too low. For tractors that work continuously, an appropriate amount of antifreeze can be added to the coolant. In severe winter, when the tractor stops, drain the water immediately. You must wait for the water temperature to drop. When draining, be sure to drain all the cooling water in the radiator and body to avoid freezing and cracking the body, etc. Mechanical parts and water tanks are best equipped with thermal insulation covers during cold periods.

Normally, only simple cleaning is required. When there is a lot of dirt and thorough cleaning is required, the water tank water pipe can be placed in the oil tank, insert a copper solder into the water pipe, and then inject gasoline or cleaning fluid into the pipe to clean the inner wall of the water pipe. Limescale. Place the water pipe in the water tank and boil it in the soda solution for an hour in a clean water tank. Remove the solution in the water tank and wash it in hot water. Use a wire brush to remove surface dirt, and finally blow out the dirt with compressed air.
