Things to note when using tractor oil

Feb 04, 2024

In order to allow our tractors to have better performance and longer service life, we should pay more attention to the following points when using tractor oil:

  1. Choose engine oil that matches the tractor model and change it according to different seasons. This is beneficial to improving the efficiency and life of the tractor.

  2. Check the engine oil dipstick regularly, do not add too much, and add and replace it in time according to the factory-specified amount. If there are no special provisions, the engine oil level should be above the center line of the oil dipstick scale.

  3. Identify the quality of engine oil: Generally speaking, if the engine oil is turbid and sticky, the engine oil is relatively poor; if the engine oil is clear and low in viscosity, the better the engine oil is.

Check the engine oil five or six minutes after the tractor is turned off, and park the vehicle on a flat surface.

  4. Pay attention to the shelf life of engine oil. After opening, it should be sealed and stored indoors in a dark place, and the indoor temperature should not be too high. The easiest way to check whether the engine oil has deteriorated is to see if its viscosity, smell, and color change. Engine oil is highly sensitive to moisture in the air, ambient temperature and light. If it is exposed to the air for a long time and is exposed to strong light, it will usually become ineffective. Using oil beyond its shelf life can cause great damage to your engine. In addition, please use the engine oil as soon as possible after opening it, preferably no more than three years.

Finally, when changing the tractor oil, it is best to wear special masks and gloves to avoid letting the oil contact the skin for a long time. If it is contaminated with gasoline, it should be cleaned immediately. Pay attention to protect your own health and safety!
