What should you do when the tractor temperature is too high?

Mar 10, 2024

When we control the tractor to continue working, it is inevitable that the tractor's temperature will be too high, especially in hot weather. So how should we respond when the tractor's temperature is too high?

First of all, do not work in hot weather, harsh environments or high-intensity work. This will greatly reduce the chance of the tractor's temperature being too high, which can greatly improve the working life of the tractor and ensure our work safety.

When we encounter the tractor's high water temperature alarm, we should first slow down and then drive the tractor to the side of the road. Do not rush to turn off the tractor's engine, because the coolant temperature is too high, which will cause the engine piston, cylinder, crankshaft and other components to overheat. Too high will result in reduced lubrication. If the engine is turned off immediately, the engine parts will be in a state of thermal expansion. As a result, the gaps between the parts will be too small, causing some soft metal to fall off, which may have a certain impact on the tractor. Therefore, after you find that the engine water tank is boiling, do not shut down the engine immediately, but keep it running at idle speed and try to lower the engine coolant temperature.

Never pour cold water directly on the engine when cooling down, as this may cause the engine block to crack due to sudden cold exposure. You can slowly pour cold water on the outside of the radiator. After the water temperature drops, put on thick gloves, then place a multi-layer folded wet cloth on the water tank cover, then unscrew the water tank cover to a small gap and wait for it to cool down. The liquid water vapor is gradually discharged, and the water tank cover can be opened to replenish cooling water only after the pressure in the water tank drops.

Thermostat failure is also a common cause of radiator abnormalities and excessive coolant temperature. Once the thermostat fails, it will cause cooling water circulation failure. When there is a significant temperature difference between the upper and lower cooling water pipes of the radiator tank, the thermostat is generally the cause. something is wrong.

Regularly check the radiator and condenser for dirt. Rinse it promptly with compressed air or low-pressure water to improve the tractor's cooling effect. Reduce the chance of excessive temperatures.
