Causes of white smoke emission from tractors

Aug 05, 2022

The engine of the tractor emits off white exhaust gas, which indicates that some fuel is discharged from the exhaust pipe before it has time to burn due to the low engine temperature and poor oil-gas atomization. The causes and troubleshooting of this phenomenon are as follows:

(1) The injection time is too late, and the fuel injector leaks during injection. The injection pressure is too low and the atomization is poor. When the engine temperature is too low, there is no time to burn and it is discharged in the form of white smoke. The treatment method is to correct the injection time and check the working condition of the injection time.

(2) There is water in the diesel oil. If the engine emits gray smoke after starting, and the gray smoke still exists with the increase of accumulated temperature, it may be that there is water in the diesel oil. The treatment method is to open the drain valve of the oil tank before starting the engine every day to remove the sediment and water.

(3) The cylinder pressure is insufficient. Due to the wear of cylinder liner and piston ring assembly and poor valve sealing, the engine emits white smoke when it is just started, and then changes into light black smoke or black smoke with the increase of accumulated temperature. The treatment method is to replace the worn cylinder liner, piston ring or correct the valve and valve seat ring.
