Check the thermostat of the tractor frequently

Jul 30, 2022

The thermostat of the tractor should be checked regularly to avoid overheating or supercooling of the engine after failure, which is easy to accelerate the wear of the engine and cause mechanical failure.

1. Check when the engine is just started. Open the water tank cover. If the cooling water in the water tank is still, it indicates that the thermostat works normally. This is because when the temperature of the cooling water is lower than 70 ℃, the main valve of the thermostat is closed. At this time, the cooling water only circulates in the engine. The cooling water in the water tank does not participate in the circulation and does not flow statically. Only when the water temperature is higher than 80 degrees can the water in the water tank start to participate in the circulation. If there is water flowing at the water inlet pipe of the water tank and the water temperature is slightly hot below 70 degrees, it indicates that the main valve is not closed tightly and the thermostat is faulty.

2. Check after the cooling water rises. At the beginning of engine operation, the water temperature rises rapidly. When the water temperature rises to 80 degrees, the water temperature rises slowly, which indicates that the thermostat works normally. Conversely, if the water temperature rises rapidly until boiling, it indicates that the main valve of the thermostat is stuck and cannot be opened. It shall be repaired in time to avoid other faults.
