1. If the electrolyte and distilled water are lower than the rated liquid level, the service life of the battery will be shortened, and too little electrolyte and distilled water will cause heating damage to the battery. In summer, it should be checked and added at least every five days, and in winter it can be extended to ten days. (Depends on local temperature and work intensity.)
2. Terminal posts, wires, and covers: The joints of the battery terminal posts and the connections with the wires must be checked frequently for corrosion caused by oxidation, and the cover must be checked for deformation and heating.
3. A dirty battery surface may cause leakage, so you should pay attention to the cleaning of the battery. If the battery is not too dirty, you can wipe it clean with a damp cloth. If it is very dirty, remove the battery from the car and wash it with water before using it. Dry naturally. Frequently remove dust and soil from the battery, remove oxides from the poles and connectors, wipe off the electrolyte on the battery cover, and keep the vent hole on the filling hole screw plug open. Finally, check the battery casing for cracks and leakage of electrolyte.
4. Charging: During the charging process, the battery will produce gas. The charging place should be well ventilated and there should be no open flames around. At the same time, the oxygen and acidic gas generated during the charging process will have an impact on the surrounding area. Unplugging the charging plug during charging will cause arcing. Turn off the charger before unplugging the plug. After charging, a lot of hydrogen gas will remain around the battery. No open flame is allowed. The cover on the battery should be opened for charging.
